Using IOS podcasts app

Hi,

Some of us download podcasts on iPhones whilst in the office. Ever since we implemented the UTM, we are noticing that we need to ensure the podcast is fully downloaded before playing it, otherwise we end up with the podcast going back to the beginning in random places. I think this has something to do with the proxy server on the UTM chunking the file to the iPhones and the podcast app thinkint that is the complete file. Anyone seen this and knows a fix?

    In the past there were chunking issues.  It's possible there's been a regression issue.  It sounds as though you have a paid license.  If so, you need to open up a support case (Premium support you can contact support directly, Standard support is through your reseller) so that they are aware, if it is a bug.

    Add single IP address of computer having issue from Web protection -> filtering options -> misc ->"Skip transparent mode source hosts/nets"  If problem no longer persists with podcast you will know it is something to do with proxy.

    *The above assumes that the pod-casting app can establish an outbound connection through the firewall (usually port 80 and  443 ) through your firewall.

    Hi,

    Yes I did this already and the problem goes away. I want to avoid giving the iPhones/iPads fixed addresses really and the web protection should really be enabled for these devices.
