Google chrome update/install

Hello,
We using web filtering for users from active directory.
Default filter is set to block all, I have allowed only our company web site.
My problem is if I want to download/update google chrome web filtering block him becouse he logged with computer name not user name for active directory.
If I enable URL category Hardware/software it works in defaul, but user without internet are able to access to hw sites. I attach log where is logged user with computer name MN-PC029
but it should be there user name, I have allowed Hardware/software catogory in my filter actions in web filtering profiles.
Why google use computer name insted of user name.

    It looks like the google update is running as a system service, not as a user.  I suspect that if you booted your computer and not logged in, it would still try to update.

    If you want to enable access to this one particular update while still blocking all else, I would do it with a whitelist or exception, rather than the filter category.  Note that this approach requires a little more work on your part (watching logs to figure out what it needs) and is a little more fragile if they change their update process.

    Thank you, for you help. It is service without username. 
    If I allow Businnes,Hardware/software the users without internet now can acces to google and etc...
    I was add that google url to exceptions but this is not help.

    To the Exceptions. Still not worked. Problem is the Chrom is looged as service w/o username so web filtering put him automatically to default filter action and here is everything is blocked.

    Another example activation of MS oofice 2013 the try to connet withou username and default filtering block them. See attach file.

    By "Go Advanced" he meant in the forum use the button with that title.  In advanced you can attach pictures to your post.  Bob - even I get a brief moment of confusion when you post that.

    In the line you posted, you are hitting an exception, so that is working.  If you were not hitting the exception, then you should look at the "matching url" string which is typically RegEx (though your string will work it is not ideal).

    Go to the exception that it is hitting, then under Skip these checks, put a checkmark beside content filter.  This will stop it being blocked due to the category being blocked.  If you really trust it, you can skip all checks.

    According to the log:
    profile="REF_HttProAccesPolic (Access policy)"

    Your screenshot is of the Default Profile.  So the traffic is hitting a different profile than you are editing.  In this case, it doesn't matter - that is not what is causing you the problem.  This should be dealt with via an exception.

    The log shows:
    filteraction=" ()"

    This means that it could not or did not choose a filteraction.  My guess is that the profile called "Access Policy" requires authentication, which it cannot do.  Though I would have thought it would hit the Fallback Action that was defined.

    In any case, I would do two things.  First, review the profiles you created (profiles tab of the second menu item) and the default profile (first menu item) to make the priority is correct and the traffic is hitting the one that you want it to, confirming by looking at the profile= part of the log.  The second is in the exception, try putting a checkbox beside authentication.  If that still doesn't do it, as suggested before, try skipping all checks.

    Here I add some screens.

    So this Default filter action point to webfiltering/UrlFiltering

    2. Waht if I set Fall back action to block all in my specific filter actions, so users from group Filter action group will be direct here.

    3. I allow internet for default filter action where could be download chrome updates withou user name.

    Is this scenario correct.

    The fallback action is what is applied if a user is authenticated but does not match any filter assignments.  In this case, the user is not authenticated.  Therefore the fallback action does not apply.


    If you want to allow for chrome to download without having a user you must create an Exception.  This is done on the Exceptions tab of the Web Filtering menu item.

    You have already created the Exception, the one called Google in your screenshot.  All you have to do is under "skip these checks" put a checkbox beside the Authentication.
