Web filtering blocking astaro.org as "uncategorized"

Hello:

Starting today many sites are coming back as "uncatagorized" incuding....

Any tips on troubleshooting this?

    This is happening to our UTM as well.  Started at 7:57AM eastern 9/17.  Called support.  They had no definitive answer except suggested a restart of the web protection services, and if that didn't work to try a cluster fail over.  Neither suggestion worked.  I'll be calling support back tomorrow (wasn't interested in bouncing the web protection or cluster during business hours).

    Without going through the log line by line I would say all sites are coming back uncategorized.

    Currently on version 9.105-9 on a UTM 625 cluster.  I am not using a local db option.  Same issue is happening to our endpoint clients managed through the UTM.

    Good to hear I am not crazy.... wondering why more have not commented?

    (Could we be the only ones who have "Block access to uncategorized websites" set?)

    All sites including google.com and microsoft.com are blocked.

    There are a lot of calls to sophosxl.net, could this be a switch off of Trusted Source?

    I will have to turn this off until there is an answer (is a bit of **** better then angry people?)

    The urid database is broken. Disable endpoint protection and the proxy will start using astaro database and everything will be back to normal. Hopefully sophos will fix this soon[8-)]

    Billybob - thanks for the suggestion - worked as described.

    You don't need to disable Endpoint Protection, just Web Control.  You may need to disable Web Contrrol and then Disable/Enable Endpoint Protection to force the switch though.  Glad you found that, Bill.

    Were you able to just disable Web Control, or did you have to toggle Endpoint Protection off/on?

    I still have filtering of uncatagorized sites.

    With TrustedSource, there are two statuses that are confusing.  One is the "No Category" category, the other is "Categorization failed."  Never categorized behavior depends on the 'Block access to uncategorized websites' selection on the 'URL Filtering' tab.

    Bob - I was able to recreate the problem and then just toggle the Web Control portion of Endpoint Protection to fix it.

    There was a temporary problem with one of the categorization servers in some geographic locations.  This was fixed within a day and we are trying to make sure it does not happen again (and is fixed faster if it does).

    If you turned Endpoint Web Control off, you can turn it on again.
