Blocking Facebook Apps

Hi,

I am trying to block facebook apps using Sophos UTM Web Protection Application control rules. i want to block facebook apps and messaging to prevent users sending messages and posting. However, cant make it work. [:(]

I already created Application control rules (facebook apps and facebook messaging to a specific users.

did i miss something? any advice will help.

    then what is the use of application blocker ?


    That's not the fault of Sophos...its how Facebook is designed...the messenger is based on jabber and that's known and blockable..but Facebook apps are run through facebooks site itself blocking something that is effectively part of the site itself is problematic at best.
