I have a few questions about the web protection feature, I think I’ve found most of the answers but want to clarify.
I am using the new Sophos UTM 9.
Is the URL database hosted locally and get updates with pattern files or does every request go to a cloud service for categorization?
If it is a cloud service wouldn’t that impact performance? Isn’t this a big privacy concern, every url going to another third party, in addition to your ISP, DNS etc?
Is trusted source smart filter xl still the categorization service? It seems odd the Sophos would use a competitors service.
Is this a url / reputation filter only, or does it look at the content of each page for inappropriate content / phrases?
