You probably have 'block unscannable content' enabled?
This is just me guessing, I have no information that the following is correct:
Most likely the AV scanner has an internal limit on how far it will extract an archive to scan its contents. This has nothing to do with the max scanning size. An AV-scanner cannot extract an archive endlessly, because this might DOS the computer (see Zip bomb - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ). An archive which hits these limits doesn't necessary need a large file size, the good old 42.zip is just 42kb large.
