MS IE and HTML content emails asking for username and password

Hi,

We have been running an AD integrated ASG220 for over a year now and recently I have had 2 users who have started to report an intermittent issue.

User 1 is prompted to enter his username and password when he opens and connects to the Internet for the first time (using IE).  He also has the same issue if he receives a HTML email.

User 2 is prompted for his username and password when he opens and connects to the Internet for the first time (using Chrome OR IE).

Can anyone advise me on how best to try and resolve this issue - being intermittent makes it more annoying to find [:(].

    When looking at the log I see the following error:

    I have removed the user from the user list, done a prefetch to get the user listed back, however the issue still occurs.

    Do you see anything in the Packet Filter or IPS logs?

    Nothing that relates to the user, his IP address or the exact time of the issues.

    Hi,

    I have discovered that this issue was related to the users themselves.  In the first instance the user had an issue with their computer profile.  By removing this and recreating it the problem was resolved.

    The issue with IE asking for user credentials is still on-going and I will post an answer once I have discovered the issue.  I believe it to be either user or profile based as other users do not experience the issue, and neither does the user if they use a different machine.
