7.008 HTTP Proxy with antivirus enabled with dual scan goes to Astaro download screen stage 1 of 3 with bar approximately a third done hangs. Workaround, disable antivirus scanning.
Confirmed using IE6. The download proxy page hangs with both single or dual AV enabled. Have to disable AV entirely to download. This is not only with large downloads, but small ones as well. I tested by attempting to download a 4MB file.
Nice thought Henrik, but for business users this is not a simple thing. In my company we have a couple of vendor supplied web-based apps that don't play well with FF and I don't think that management would be too thrilled by me saying that we need to stop production so that IT can roll out a new browser and everyone has to undergo training tomorrow because of a web proxy bug. hehe.
Update: Submitted to Astaro support. I suggest that you do the same.

Agreed. This would be a perfect candidate for a point patch. Business critical issue. I just hope that they fix it this way instead of doing a 7.008-1. Don't want to have to wait half a day and redownload all the other 7.008 stuff to fix this one thing.
Gert was on not too long ago. I'm kind of surprised that he didn't post anything here. Sort of a big-time bug. Would have been nice to know the status from him.

I can confirm that this issue. The problme is, that the AJAX response sent from the proxy to the client has a trailing space in the data structure, this leads the javascript interpreter from internet explorer to not further process this request. Firefox ignores that trailing comma and therefore works as expected
Astaro Support has a hotfix rpm package ready which solves this issue.
We are currently preparing an up2date package 7.009 which will be released within the next days which solves this issue.
I hate to be a stick in the mud about issues like this, but what has happened to Astaro's Q & A? Surely someone at Astaro would have tested AV scanning functionality on both IE and FF, before releasing this patch? Likewise the init script issue with the Authentication Daemon. Something really needs to be done here, users are loosing faith in Astaro's quality. I myself will not update for weeks because of the lack of quality testing. How can we put trust into a product that is supposed to be protecting our networks, when updates to that product are not thoroughly tested by its vendor?
This is a public release, not beta. And don't tell me you could not foresee these issues, therefore you did not test. The update included new packages for HTTP Proxy and Astaro Authentication Daemon. It makes sense to add the above packages to the functionality tests prior to the release of the patch!
I tend to agree - I don't apply updates anymore and usually wait at least a week for problems reports to surface via the Forums. Your assertion that QA may be lacking may have some basis here: http://www.astaro.com/company/jobs. Somebody apply for those QA jobs quick!!!
