Problem in Accessing Website

I am trying to access the following web url from HTTP proxy of ASL.

http://www.broadcast.harris.com/

I am always getting the following Error from astaro. I tried to figure out the problem I played with proxy settings, whilelist etc but no luck. For test I connected one system to the internet without astaro and the url works fine.

My http proxy is running in standard mode. I am not sure if this block is from my IPS rules.

Any idea what could be creating this problem?

Regards,
Srikanth.

  • I suspect you are not allowing the dns through the firewall eg you don't have any rule in place. Try using the DNS proxy, but you will need to tell your PC about.

I think a more detailed explanation of your configuration would help.

    hi,

thanks for the reply. I am using DNS proxy. I set it up under Proxies--> DNS option and our internal network is allowed to use that DNS proxy.

Mine is Astaro Security Gateway Appliance ver 6.303.

    HTTP Proxy Details:

    Operation Mode: Standard
    Anonymity: NONE
    Allowed Network: Internal Network

    No Parent Proxy
    Cache enabled

I am not using any profiles for http proxy.

do I need to create a separate packet filter rule to allow dns traffic out again? coz I can access all other websites without any problem since from the past six months without that packet filter rules.

do let me know what other information you may need in order to help me out over this.

    Best Regards.
  • Have you checked from outside the firewall with a laptop or something? DNS appears to be working (it's trying to connect).. no route to host generally indicates an ISP routing issue or that the site you are trying to reach is down..
