Astaro VPN to eLux VPNC

Hello,

i have an little ASG110 with v8.3 and want a VPN tunnel to one Fujitsu Thinclient (A300). 
The OS on the Thinclient is eLux 3.7.0
In the datasheet stands that there four VPN clients included. But it is only one, the VPNC. The productmanagment do the decision to cancel the support of other clients... [:@]

Now it is "my" part to configure that, but i'm not the VPN pro and hope that somebody can help me al little bit.

Which VPN should i use?
And how to configure in the client?

I need a little push in the right way. [;)]

    Hi, VPNC is a Cisco VPN client.

    IIRC, Astaro has a Cisco VPN mode, so you could try it with that.

    Otherwise, I would recommend googling or contacting Fujitsu and asking for other VPN clients.

    VPNC is a Cisco VPN client.

    that VPNC is a free linux based pakage and not the Cisco client. Maybe, they have some common characteristics, but it is not the original Cisco client.


    Here my Tests...

    The IPSec config with Preshared Key...


    And the policy...


    My VPNC config: 
    IPSec gateway ip.dyndns.biz

    IPSec ID ThinClient

    IPSec secret password

    Xauth username guenther 

    Xauth password password

    DPD idle timeout (our side) 0

    Enable Single DES


    I got a connection to the Astaro but the client gives an error... 

    response was invalid [1]:  (ISAKMP_N_INVALID_EXCHANGE_TYPE)(7)


    I googled but with no result, can somebody look at my config?

    Are you using the Cisco VPN mode on Astaro? (It just says IPSEC)

    Sorry for the late post. My eLux testlicense was gone, now i have the full license.
    My Problem is to get the GroupID and Password for the Cisco VPN. 
    I found no good How-To to configure the Linux vpnc. I only have to type my stuff in the Config file and nobody has a How-To for any VPN.

    What i found was that the client only can do IPSec. IKE can be SSL but the tunnel must be IPSec.
    So i can use some Flags like "IKE Authmode hybrid"

    When i use the Astaro as Cisco VPN i only get the *.p12-File and the Mobileconfig for iOS (what is not realy helpful).
    What i found was an converter pcf2vpnc. But Astaro has no *.pcf-File Output...

    Now is my Question, is it possible to use the linux vpnc?

    A RED for only one ThinClient is not an option, because it is not realy cheap...

    I'm desperate. [:S]

    Hi, Kev, and welcome to the User BB!

    Barry's first suggestion was a good one. According to vpnc - client for cisco vpn concentrator, VPNC is a client for a Cisco concentrator.  Unfortunately, Astaro doesn't support using a PSK, and the newest version of VNPC (2008) doesn't support certificates, so I suspect you are out of luck in trying to get VPNC to work with Astaro.

    I suggest opening a new thread: "What free linux Remote Access client should I use with Astaro?"  My guess is that an OpenVPN client using Astaro SSL VPN Remote Access will be what most recommend, but that's a WAG!
