restricting access to https

hi guys.

i've read the documentation, googled and searched this forum, and gone through the interface with a fine toothed comb but for the love of stan i cannot find a way to restrict https access only to spedivic ip addresses.

can anyone point me either to a document or a specific step or two in the ui to configure this properly?

It's a simple matter of creating a rule to allow https access for those sites, then making sure there are no other rules allowing https access for other sites.

And making sure the HTTP proxy is not allowing HTTPS traffic for everyone.

Here is what I would consider doing.

1. Create Host associations for the IP addresses you would like to access with HTTPS under Network >> Definitions.
2. Under the Packet Filter >> Rules create rules to allow access from your source internal network(s) to the Hosts you defined in step 1.
3. Create one group for all of the HTTPS entries so you have pretty colors.
4. Ensure that HTTPS is disabled in the HTTP proxy (if you use the proxy).
