Astaro Secure Client and Vodafone UMTS-Card

Hi,

i just try since today morning to establish a VPN-tunnel with a vodafone 3G-Mobile connect-UMTS-Card. My ASC-version is 8.2. 

i tried 2 possibilities: the first was to configure the connection in ASC to select LAN/WLAN as "transmitting medium". in this configuration i established the connection with the vodafone software. i received the APN-hostname, a username and a password for VPN-supporting connections from the vodafone-support before. 
But more than a IKE-phase 1 and the beginning of 2 i did not get. Traversal NAT is activated on the ASL (i must do this, because i get a 10.x ip adress from the vodafone network).  

the second variant was to change the "transmitting medium" to 'UMTS/GRPS' and choose ASC to initiate the connection. But constantly i got the error message "no carrier signal"...

can anybody help me to configure the ASC succesfully or can me give some tips maybe?

    is there anyone who has expieriences with configuring ASC 8 with GPRS / UMTS ?

    Hi,

    well not with the vodafon umts card but with gprs and siemens s65. Tried it first with preshared key, without luck. Afterwards i tried it with x509 certificates and it worked. 

    Just used the normal roadwarrior configuration
    aes+pfs .....
    Export the profile to the ASC. (Didnt use the build in GPRS module, couldnt get it to work with the s65). Open a connection to internet, and next open the vpn client.
