VPN-Client inside->AstaroFW->VPN-Server

if you are using NAT on the ASL you need version 3.2, it does NAT traversal. Of course you need to set the packet filter rules for this client...

For a non specific VPn server

For IPSEC you need to add an rule allowing UDP 500 to UDP 500 and also a rule for ESP with an SPI range from 254:65535, make these rules from your internal net to any and it will allow you to connect to any external IPSEC VPN device

Symantec VPN-Client 7.0 pr 6.53 works great behind Astaro connecting to Remote Velociraptor or SEF. (Worked the last 5 days over such connection for testing...Karlsruhe->Berlin)

I have Masquerading on and let any service from inside out. (IF restricting ports from inside to outside you have to allow the protocols/ports for IKE/ISAKMP "ProtocolType 50 + UDP500" )

This is really odd.. because what you say Bernd, was true for me in Astaro 2.x too.

I have the Nortel Networks extranet access client, an while I had to do nothing to make it work in ASL 2.x, it just complains about "create socket failed with 10048".

I have an "any any" rule for inside->outside traffic.
