Windows 8.1 BlueScreen

I have had 4 different computers with different base installations encounter blue screens when trying to access documents stored on our local NAS. I thought this was fixed with windows 8.1. But I just had a new user on 8.1 crash.

The error I'm getting when it blue screens is
KMODE_Exception_not_handled

After uninstalling Sophos it would work.

  • I had Sophos look into this, sent them the BSOD dump file. The issue was McAfee was not removed completely and one of the processes was conflicting with Sophos. After running the removal tool from McAfee, it worked great.
