The hardware is a 2.0GHz Celeron, 2Gb RAM, IDE HDD, 2x 10/100 ports.
The installation is pretty much vanilla using PPPoE to a UK BT Fibre modem. During the install firewall wizard settings I enabled all outbound traffic for now, Web, Terminal Service, Email, etc.
The only other thing I have done is un-tick some of the threat detection patterns that don't apply to my network.
The problem I have is that using speedtest.net my connection through the UTM is somewhat slower than using my previous netgear hardware router. So I'm hoping for some advice.
I noted that starting the test through the UTM there is 5s pause before the download starts, it then starts the download quite slowly, shoots round to around 75mb and then quickly comes back and settles around 25-30mb. Through the netgear the download starts instantly, goes quickly into the high 40's and stays there.
