Computer lags after Sophos install

Hi

I have 3 computers that are experiencing program/windows freezing when using outlook or web browsing. On one, outlook and windows will be unresponsive for 4+ minutes. On another one it will freeze for 45 seconds when opening attachments. All of them are windows 7 boxes.

I did a restore point that removed the antivirus and the computer worked fine. 

I'm in the process of reinstalling Sophos but it looks frozen in step 2 with CTR-ALT-DEL unresponsive for 5+ minutes, but mouse works

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

    i have installed the actual Endpoint on 3 Windows 7 Machines (1 Lenovo Ideapad, 1 Core i7 12GB Ram and 1 Virtual Machine) and on 1 WinXP Machine.
    On every machine i dont have any issue, for my feeling the machines have overall an better performance as before. 

    Maybe there is some kind of other security software left?
    I also turn off the Windows Defender Real Time and Scheduled Scans at all my PCs.

    Turnig off windows defender service completely (disabling service) and making sure no other AV ( or probably spyware/adware removal tool) is running on the same computer usually should help. In my case Windows Defender brought my Laptop into knees...

    Thanks, will look into that. Yeah I have 15 other ones running with no problems so far.

    Yes windows defender does not play nice with sophos endpoint. Same with any other antivirus products. Sometimes malware bytes may cause problems with it. But its good you got it fixed. Just word of advice never run more than one real time antivirus product.
