Push Notification Blocked by SMTP

Hi,
i try to get the overall report which was configured under "Reports and Protocols". The "Mail Manager" seems to point to a rejected "SMTP protocol".

2017-06-25 03:39:30 <Mailadresse> P=<do-not-reply@fw-notify.net> R=dnslookup T=remote_smtp: SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host mx00.emig.kundenserver.de [212.227.15.40]: 554-kundenserver.de (mxeue009) Nemesis ESMTP Service not available\n554-No SMTP service\n554-IP address is black listed.\n554 For explanation visit https://help.1and1.com/smtp-error-messages?ip=178.0.142.18&c=bl

What are the options?

  • Hi, Ulf, and welcome to the UTM Community!

"IP address is black listed." - As a mod, I can see the IP you're posting from.  That IP is on the spamhaus.zen blacklist.

  • Hi,

    thanks for the tip.

I have a dynamic IP at the site of UTM. However, the report has not been sent since the installation (4 weeks). I had initially only set weekly and for a test with other mail addresses then also daily (for a faster result).

Respond the provider may be due to the sender's <do-not-reply@fw-notify.net> so.

How could you bypass the blocking or turn away?

    Ulf

  • Kundenserver.de must have a way for you to whitelist the sending email address.

  • How do you mean?
The e-mail sends the UTM. There is no seperate mail server.

    Ulf

  • That is right, Ulf - the UTM tried to send to an email account hosted at kundenserver.de.  The MTA at kundenserver.de consulted the spamhaus.zen RBL and blocked the email because it came from an IP known to send spam or, if this is a home-use situation, it's an IP known to be dynamically assigned.  That information is in the SMTP log line and at the page in the kundenserver.de message.  You need an exception or a whitelist entry at kundenserver.de for the Sender address that you have listed in 'Management >> Notifications'.

  • A request for Whitelist with daily dynamic IP's seems to me hopeless in this case.
Or do you mean the specific e-mail address.

On the other side - I have a request:
AVM with the Fritz box (eg: 7390) also has the possibility to send push messages. Changes to the configuration, missed calls, or other events are also sent as e-mail. There are no problems. The messages are sent unimpeded to the recipient.

    Ulf

  • Not an IP, "... a whitelist entry at kundenserver.de for the Sender address that you have listed in 'Management >> Notifications'."

The situation with the Fritzbox doesn't tell us anything about this situation which is clear.

    Cheers - Bob

  • i have checked the setting of the mail address under 'Management >> Notifications'. It is the same e-mail address with which I send daily e-mails (via Outloock). Here I do not have these errors The black and spam list in my provider's account management is empty

  • That is not relevant to this problem.
