I've had this issue for about a week now and I'm too the point where I can't take it. Whenever I surf the net, it's slow and sometimes times out (page cannot be displayed) or whatever. So I decided to run a constant ping google.com -t to see what happens from my PC.
I'm getting replies here and there, and then it times out a few times, replies, times out, etc. So obviously that's my problem, that's why my surfing is timeing out, there's some network issue somewhere.
Thinking it was maybe just my PC, I did a ping -t on my wife's computer and her's is doing the same exact thing and her surfing is hit or miss. So now I know it's not a computer problem.
What else should I consider? My network topology is basically my comcast cable modem, going into my Astaro Server, and then my other NIC goes to my 10/100 16port switch. Then there's a cat5e cable going from that switch to my 8 port Gigabyte switch. Then all my PC's either hook up to either switch.
If I run a ping test to google from astaro, it looks like I get some replies and some packet loss. %20 or %50 percent. Although when I ran another 12 tests or so they all got 5 replies no packet loss. So that one time may have been a fluke.
Hard to believe both my switches may be at fault though? Because my wife is on one switch and I'm on the other...and we both have packet loss time outs.
