DNAT very slow

just testing out the virtual appliance on ESX4. The astaro has 3 nics 2 are conencted to the same internal network and the other conencted to the external network

I ahve put in some rules to port forward https to a web server, also a virtual machine. when downloading a file from the web server I only seem to get a transfer rate of 5KBs. If I attach the webserver directly to the external network using the smae physical nics as the astaro applaiance i get 500kbs.

Any ideas why DNAT would be so slow??

    fixed it and I think I know how. 

    Couple of problems that I found, if port forwarding https on port 443 you need to enable the user portal and change the port. Even with the portal disabled I had problems with the dnat rule working

    also if you are using the vmware appliance with esx. Make sure you download the ESX ovf image and not the "vmware" image and use vmware convertor to import it, like I did. Must be a driver version or something.

    Sorry for wasting everyones time - hopefully someone may find this helpful
