Dear All
I have recently moved one of our web servers from the internal LAN to a DMZ zone which I have created off the firewall. I have changed all IP information to point to the new IP range for the DMZ, and everything was working OK, I could access the sites externally and internally using a URL.
Today when I came in there was a bunch of help desk calls regarding that when internal users are trying to access our main web site using its URL they where being given a "The Requested URL could not be Retrieved" further down the message there was a statement "The dnsserver retruned: Name Error. The domain name does not exist"
I am using a static HOSTS file which points to the correct IP address, and if I try to ping www.my_domain_name.co.uk then I get a reply. I can also access the web site using either its internal IP address or it's external IP address.
I cannot see any DNS cache options on the firewall so am a bit confused as to why I am now getting these error messages from the Firewall.
Can anybody explain why this has just started to happen.
Regards
Jamie
