5.201 and the same FTP problem

Hi all,

slowly but surely I’m in doubt about Astaro and the support from Astaro!
Since Version 5.103 the support from Astaro told me that they can reproduce the FTP Problem and that it will be fixed in the next up2date.

Who else has problems with FTP?????

    Hi 

    recently I have problems with my ASG220 v 5.203 and ftp download/upload of big files (more than 10MB).
    During download/upload at a certain moment the transfer session aborts.
    I upgraded my ASG to v. 5.204 but I have the same problem!!

    help, please!!!!

    I changed the DNAT / SNAT rule for the ftp service which seems to work. I changed the SRC translation to the "External adress". I don't know if this supposed to be this way, it seems a bit illogical to me so perhaps somebody could explain this to me?

    I was able to login this way and even could transfer a 3 Mb file, let's hope this works for our customers as well(!)

    All -> External (Address) / FTP   External (Address)   FTP-server / FTP 
    DNAT_FTP2   All -> External (Address) / FTP-CONTROL   External (Address)   FTP-server/ FTP-CONTROL

    I'm still suffering from this issue.

    AFAICS it isn't addressed in 5.207 either.

    one customer I had found that swapping a 1 gig processor for a 2.6 gig processor fixed the FTP dropout problem they were having.  CPU utilisation did not seem to be the issue on the 1 gig processor, but going to the beefier machine did fix it.  They were getting failures in 3rd or 4th file download in a batch round the 5 meg mark in a transfer. 

    The other issue I tripped over, DNAT mapping ports.  Although it was on PCAnyWhere not FTP.  I  defined PCAnyExt 15661:15662 then mapped these to the proper ports internally using a single DNAT rule.  What worked eventually was two DNAT rules for the two separate ports.  Not sure if this is still an issue in V5/6.  But I steer away from using network groups and port ranges - especially in NAT rules.

    Well, we're on a Dual 2GHz Opteron, and not using NAT.
