what´s that?

hi folks,

i´ve enabled the DHCP Server with Static Mappings. If i define a outgoing rule, than it´s not possible to connect to the allowed port.
for example:
my mac xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx
static mapping: xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx - ip 192.168.x.x
->definitions -> network new host = ip 192.168.x.x name= y
than a packetfilter rule y ->irc -> any -> allow

but it doesn´t work

what´s going on there?
any idea?

did you setup a service definition for the irc? If so what is it(p0orts and such) If it still does not work then create a rule that says source

i did the service setup before and everithing worked. but since i have switched to dhcp with static mappings it doesn´t work anymore. but i configured that my mac gets the same ip (static mapping) and my ip is still the same as before activating the dhcp server. normaly i must not change anything because the defined host is still the same.
is it a bug?

did you put all the machines on your lan(or just yours) to dhcp?

ok in the packet filter..do you ahve a rule that says ---any---any--allow? See if that works.

then you ahve your network def for your machine mistyped or you ahve your static ip assignment wrong..one or the two.

on the beginning i had set ip´s manually on each pc. i had configured the host definitions. and since then nothing changed expect that i activiated the dhcp and that i get my ip now from the dhcp
