Can't access firewall from browser:(

HI,

Sorry if someone already asked this question before.

I'm using Astaro 3.2. I tried to access it via a browser by using
https://x.x.1.1. I remembered I could get to the login screen once but after that when I try to access the firewall through my browser I'm getting a DNS Server error message. I couldn't get to the login screen as before? 

Is there anyway I can access to the firewall through the browser? I also tried to access via the console but it complained my password is incorrect? How do I reset this password if I have to? I inhereted this environment from my predecessor and his configuration is not standard at all[:(]

    I would think you should be able to boot up in single user mode and change the password. Consult google on how to do this for linux as i am not exactly sure on how to do this except on bsd.

    the DNS error seems to be a false positive. Do you have installed the
    WebAdmin certificate to the explorers stack? If yes try to remove it.
    You could also try another browser to access the box. If you are able
    to telnet the box port 443 the web server is running.

    Hi,

    I've tried everything and it still doesn't work. In fact I pull all cables out of the firewall then try to test out each network card (interface) to see if I can login. Unfortunately, whichever way I tried it doesn't work. I tried to login as root user from the console but it complains my password is incorrect. Is there anyway I can reset all passwords? I just want to access the firewall so I can see all the configuration.

    Are you trying to login via ssh with the username: loginuser ?
    If not try that.

    Disable any and all proxy services in your browser.

    I tried all that but still unsuccessful?[:(] I tried both loginuser and root but still no good. I disabled all proxy services before trying to access the firewall via web browser but still no good?

    No backup. I couldn't find anything from my predecessor?[:(] Is there anyway you could recover the password or another way of logging in?

    Is it possible that your predecessor changed the standard https port (443) to something else before his departure?

    I did have a problem accessing the web admin screen only on one occassion.  I had to reboot the firewall from the console.  Probably could have reloaded the http daemon, but since it is only a home network, I just did a quick reboot.

    I think I've had the same problem twice now. I am using ASL v4.009. It seems that if I leave the server site for more than a day (like over the weekend) without using it, then when I try to access the webadmin interface or login at the console screen, it will not accept my password or in the most recent case, any user id (root, admin, loginuser, etc).

    I have been able to get around the problem by power cycling the server. After that I can get back in normally.

    I also have a nearly identical problem... port 443 IS open and accessible, I get the security certificate (and warning about trust root) then the browser just hangs... in THIS case, rebooting does NOT resolve the issue.
