connection teaming, multiple default routes ?

I have two DSL connections and my firewall is 3.20 with 4 NICs.  So e0=DSL1, e1=DSL2, e2=internal, and e3=empty.  I have two questions:

1. Although 3.20 supports multiple default route entries that one can prioritize, I can't verify that this is working!  I disconnect the primary connection, DSL1, and the firewall does not switch to DSL2 automatically.  Does anyone have similar experience or can comment on this?

2. Does 3.20 provide a way for connection/bandwidth teaming?  This will allow internal hosts to use both DSLs seamlessly for outbound traffic.

Anyone with two broadband connections using Astero 3.2 can comment on how he/she setup a high availability or load-balanced setup.

    It does what you need, but I do not know whether this can be done in Linux in general, or in ASL in particular.

    We have a high availablility load-balanced load sharing setup with two E1 leased lines (with different carriers on different circuits), however, and this is a BIG however, its not handled by Astaro, its handled by the Cisco routers and our ISP.

    Thats the best place to deal with it, but I don't think many ISPs are doing this with DSL technology AFAIK.

    Multiple def routes should be possible, if the fw doesn't get freaked out by it then you can do it with linux.

    just ignore the last part where it goes into 'Load Balancing'

    I just don't know if the FW will barf on it or not.
