no answer on porrt 139

Hi everyone,

I seem to have a problem.

I ve configured a DMZ. Inside the DMZ a samba machine. I want to connect over NBT to this machine. All rules seem to be o. k., but the logfile tells me that the packages on port 139 are blocked on this samba machine.

Is there anyone to help me???

    Bonezed, I think the original post was kind of cryptic anyway, but keep in mind that NBT/SMB bound to TCP/IP as a transport service is routable!

    If there are resources on the other end of a router or gateway though, you need to configure the lmhosts file properly (especially if the samba server is serving logons).
    Port 137, 139 and possibly some port in the 400-range for windows 2000 (sorry, don't remember it right now).

    But I'm not certain we're talking about the same problem as the original poster :-))

    I believe the port for win2k/xp is 445, DCE if I remember correctly. Hope that helped  [:)]
