Slow WAN speed of UTM120 at remote branch

Hello everyone,
first of all: I know the 120 is slow and only good for slow connections [:)]
(although I wonder why the Sophos Sizing Guides tells otherwise [;)] )

Now to my problem:
I have several 120s deployed for remote offices. Mostly there are 10MBit/s SDSL connections and the 120 is able to get full speed on this.

I have one branch though, that is maxed at 4 MBit/s. According to a network engineer on-site direct connection (notebook at the SDSL-line) gives 10+ MBit/s

At first I thought a duplex mismatch might be the reason, but auto-neg is turned on and 100MBit/s Full is selected (still have to check with the provider for the other side of the connection, but I'd assume a match)

The slow speed also occurs on the console of the UTM

Any ideas what might be the reason? CPU load etc. is minimal

Try to disable Web protection and IPS and test again :-) - Speedtest does not go well with proxy in between.

I have UTM 120 with 100mbit connections running "fine" :-)

I had trouble at all sites with duplex mismatch between my UTM and the ISP (COX) equipment. Auto didn't negotiate properly. Easiest way to check is to SSH in, root, then run...

I also did a speed test from via ssh with all facilities disable. Same result

My interfaces show some errors/drops:

Especially eth1 shows quite a lot of drops
Is the statistic since boot or last 24h?

I will check with the issue with my provider. Unfortunately this might take a bit due to the holidays

The stats are from last reboot.

Try inserting a small 5 port switch in between and switch all the patch cables with new ones :-)

Looks like duplex issue with the ISP equipment - same as my issue.

If you can go onsite, in case you accidentally drop the UTMoff the internet, you could also go play with the duplex for now. Set yours to 100full or 1000full and see what happens. Might get speeds up until you can chat with ISP about setting their stuff static to 1000full, which you can then match.
