How to stop quarantine e-mails to users

Hello all,

Newbie here. I have searched on Google and attempted to search on thsi site but I cannot seem to be able to stop quarantine emails being sent to users for the POP3 protection in UTM 9

The emails are now replacing the spam emails and becoming spam themselves!

Cheers

Ralf

  • Hi, Ralf, and welcome to the User BB!

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "quarantine emails being sent to users for the POP3 protection" and "The emails are now replacing the spam emails and becoming spam themselves!"

  • Hello Bob,

Thank you for replying and sorry for the delay.

I have setup a home edition of UTM and enabled the POP3 scanning. The UTM is working really well and blocking emails with viruses and also spam. However we seem to be receiving an email every time from UTM that an email has been quarantined. Which means for every spam/virus emailed quarantined by UTM we receive an email stating this action.

Is there a way to stop UTM sending these "alert" emails about the quarantine action?

I tried enabling pre-fetch mode but when I go and use another network that does not use UTM the same emails already downloaded from the home network are downloaded again. Its like UTM does not tell the mail server that the emails is downloaded already when pre-fetch is enabled.

    Cheers
    Ralf
