weird error

i'm seeing this in a clients utm screen

Ethernet Up Error

link state is error.  I can't find anything int he laogs..ipconfig shows no errors neither does ethtool.  Any ideas?

    I am getting the same thing on the new UTM 9.2 router that I just built.
    My WAN link is up, and passing traffic, but I get the red Link Error status.
    The error is intermittent, it comes and goes.
    I swapped out first the Ethernet cable, then the NIC, but the error is still there.
    I am reluctant to put this new router in as my primary household router until I get this fixed.

    I think you need to visit the 9.2b site and have a look at a couple of the threads on the issues with NICs, what NICs are you running and getting the error on?

    I first had a 100 Mbit Intel Pro PCI card (Intel 82557) in the machine for my WAN link.
    After I noticed the error, I swapped that out for a 3Com 100 Mbit 3C905C card.
    Both cards have worked fine without problems in other machines.

    This being a new router build, and not yet my production router, it is connected in a test setup where the LAN interface is connected to my LAN, and the WAN interface is connected using DHCP to the LAN side of a spare Netgear WGR614v10 router that I put on the LAN just to provide an isolated network segment for it.
    As part of my troubleshooting of the error issue, I also rebooted the Netgear box.

    After building the UTM 9.2 router yesterday, and getting the link error several times, I left the router on overnight.
    I just checked in Webadmin, and today there is no error.
    If it stays like that for the next couple of days, I'll put it into production.
    My 3 year home license for ASG 8.3 expires early next month, so it is time for me to upgrade.

    Saw that a few times on my box at home with 9.200-11. Vmware VMXNET3 interfaces in the guest and PCI-X Dual port Broadcom NICs that were working pulls from an IBM server recently decommissioned. Seemed to be just the second WAN interface (hung off a Cisco 887VA DSL Router through a standard vSwitch) and it never hiccuped at all. Error state did only seem to happen after cycling the modem or requesting an DHCP renew from the ISP tho never kept webadmin up long term..

    May not be related.

    it turned out to be a problem with the wisps interface gear.  They had to replace it and the error is now gone.
