New user for Astaro for Skype Blocking

I have heard and read a few threads here that have successfully killed Skype. I'm a current user of Untangle in a small business with over 150 employees. I don't want to dump Untangle. 

All I want to do is use Astaro to process IP traffic for Skype and block it as the final frontier device before going out to the WAN. 

Employee -> Untangle (in bridge mode) -> Astaro free -> WAN.
I'm also not an expert like most of you and I'm just learning as I go.
So this setup, while it makes sense to me might not for most of you. And if that's the case, please be so kind to help me understand why this is not possible. But if it is possible, I'd like some guidance.

    Oh, FYI, we use VoIP for our organization. 
    We also use Google Apps, and a cloud-based CRM. (Both on https). 

    These are the primary apps used by 90% of our employee base. 
    Then there are managers who are allowed Facebook, Skype, etc. There's also the creative department who uses sync software like Box. 

    Other than that, nothing complicated like separate subnets or VPNs or firewalls.

    Hi, Skype is very resourceful and will usually find a way out, if you have any ports open. It can even traverse many http proxies.

    That said, Astaro does have an Application Detection system which reportedly can block Skype (I haven't tried it).
    However, that is not in the free 'essentials' version.

    You could do a 30-day trial and see if it will work for you before purchasing a license.

    A little bit of confusion on my part is to navigate around the website for the direct ISO or the purchase license now link, heh. 

    But yes, that's a great idea. Just not sure if my proposed solution would work.

    i've deployed application control for skype and when it's on skype is dead.  it may connect to the skype network but you can't make a call on it...[[[:)]]]  I also tested it at my church during our basketball season with 150 folks on the wifi..i then meandered around the crowd all day long and folks were wondering how come skype is suddenly broken..[[[:)]]]  

    NOw then if you have things outbound setup for easy outgoing like unautenticated socks proxies skype can worm it's way out..sometimes...[[[:)]]]

    Both the partners in the Philippines are like most of the companies in the Philippines - sleeping.
    I sent out an email to Konek IT 12 days ago, and still no response. And the other one doesn't even have contact info because it's sales email is bouncing. I wonder how this country will ever dig itself out of the third world ditch it's in.
