Reports and backups - E-mail not working

The executive report and the backups are not being sent to my gmail address.  I am a home user running the latest version.  Does the External SMTP server need to configured?

    in this situation you have to check port 25 with this steps
    1) do a rule in firewall that allow your pc to any on port 25
    2) in mail manager SMTP under Advanced put you PC ip in Skip transparent mode hosts/nets (if you use SMTP in transparent) and check the box Allow SMTP traffic for listed hosts/nets
    after this rules in UTM, in cmd of your PC put this:
    telnet 173.194.65.26 25
    and give as the result

    First thing i did was attempt to telnet to 173.194.65.26 25 to what happened.  The connection was denied.  

    Then i made the following FW rule:
    mypc --> SMTP --> Any  This did not seem to help. 

    The only other rule in my firewall is internal network --> any --> Internet IPv4.  

    I then added my PC to the Skip transparent mode hosts/nets and checked the Use transparent mode and Allow SMTP traffic for listed hosts/nets.  

    E-mail still fails, and attempting to telnet to 173.194.65.26 25 still fails.
