(tagged) VLAN with only one NIC ?

Hello there,

is it possible to create 2 VLANs on one NIC, which is already in use (webadmin, port 4444)?

I'm using a small Box from Zotac (via dualcore, 4gb), which works very well.
Now i want to use a hp procuve switch with 2 VLANs, one multihomed port which is used by the astaro.

i Think i have to use an unused nic, right?
So can i realize a VLAN-Setup with only one nic (onboard)?

Thx in advance,

Manuel

  • Hi Manuel,

You can change the existing interface type from "ethernet standard" to "ethermnet vlan" (just tested with 8.300), and then add other vlan interfaces. But be carefull because you can easily lock yourself out by doing this.

    Kind regards,

    Matthias
