Can't create definition with IP matching interface

I'm trying to create a host definition with an IP that matches one of the interface's IPs.  It won't let me do this and give an "invalid object parameter" error.  I'm mainly doing this for consistency between devices and I'd like to deploy the definition through ACC.  Is this by design?

    You shouldn't need a host definition.  You should use the "Internal (Address)" object, for example.  Or, have I misunderstood what you're trying to accomplish?
