Backups failing

I have set up automatic backups to perform one every day and to send them to my mail address.
maiaddress is correct, but no mail arrive (they are allowed in my spam filter)
i have turned backup off and back on, rebooted the machine, deleted the mail address and filled it in again (saving settings inbetween)
no mails arrive[:@][:@][:@]

    Whenever things stop working for no reason, try looking at the IPS log, or just temporarily disabling IPS. You can try to login to WebAdmin with an incorrect username/passord combination to see if a notification is sent, then enable IPS again.  If the message goes through, then you know IPS is the issue, and a glance at the IPS and packet filter logs should enable you to identify the issue.

    Because i cannot use a FQDN in Management->Notifications->Advanced->External SMTP server, i created a network definition for the smtp server of my ISP's SMTP server IP which worked fine, untill the SMTP IP changed [8-)]
    Changed the IP to the correct one, tested it and it works again.

    In  Management->Notifications->Advanced->External SMTP server created a DNS Hoste with the FQDN of my ISP's SMTP server, and now it should be fail proof.....
