[7.502] - Additional Addresses PPPoE

We still have a problem with our Additional Addresses.
If the Astaro miss the connection to our DSL modem, the only way to get the additional addresses up and running again are to disable and enable them again.

Any workaround on this issue?

  • Andreas, this is the first you've posted here on this issue.  What do you mean by "miss the connection to our DSL modem"?  What do you see with the Additional Addresses that leads you to conclude they are not "up and running"?

  • If the DSL modem are restarted or the Astaro lose the connection because other reasons, the IP additional IP addresses don’t come up on its own. The are listed as activated, but status is down.
If I manually deactivate them and then re-activate them again, the status changes to up.
  • Interesting.  I have zero experience with PPPoE.  I wonder if toggling the Additional Address off/on causes the Astaro to send a signal to your ISP, and that the problem is a setting at your ISP.  I just have no idea.

  • The isp for a client just changed over to PPPoE and I am having this same issue.

    Have 4 "static" ips assigned.

However Astaro will not work with the Static PPPOE IP box selected for the external interface. If I let the provider assign, the first IP gets assigned to the external interface.

Under additional ips, they will work when first setup and "turned on"
However, if the ADSL link goes down, only the first ip on the external interface comes up. The additional ips stay in the "Down" state.

They must be manually toggled off and on to become "up"

    Is this a provider issue?
If so is there a way for Astaro to refresh these?

  • WOW!

Having to manually connect every day is much worse.

(just having to do this when the link goes down is embarrassing but bearable)

I will tell the customer that help is on the way.
