No Email Notifications

i've been running 7.001 for about 14 days now.  i have not received a single email notification.  i have three different email accounts set to receive notifications, each from different domains.  i left the "sender" as the default of "do-not-reply@fw-notify.net".

in the packet filter i have:

(8) internal -> pop3 (ssl) -> any (allow)
(9) internal -> smtp -> any (allow)
(10) internal -> smtp (ssl) -> any (allow)

email security neither POP or SMTP proxies are on.

i do not have an internal mail server.

i am also not receiving backups by email, though i've configured it to do that too.

any ideas?  thank you all in advance!

    Go and activate SMTP Proxy --> insert an internal server - create a dummy... --> disable transparent mode --> click the advanced tab --> enable use smart host --> insert a smtp-server like smtp.gmx.de --> select this smart host requires authentication --> insert your smtp account data for your maildress from which you want to send mails... --> save anything! --> select management --> notifications  --> insert your mailadress from which you want to send mails - should be the same like your smarthosts address --> insert your notification recipients --> all done.

    I was looking at this post also:  http://astaro.org/showthread.php?t=17793&highlight=Smarthost

    Do I just "enable" this and that is it, then off to my Gmail my alerts will go, or do I have to start configuring stuff for my Comcast ISP before it can even go to Gmail?

    Without enabled SMTP-Proxy, outgoing mails from ASG are sent using MX records from dns.
    I have Barracuda 300 outsite of my own network. All notifications from ASG take this way:
    ASG -> MX -> Barracuda -> ASG -> DNAT -> Exchange

    @RFCat_vk
    Some "big" mail provider like gmx, dont accept smtp mail from hosts without a proper reverse dns record .

         Cool, good luck.  For now I am giving up on trying to get alerts.  I have tried all advice given in here, SMTP Proxy On/Off, Smarthost, filter rules, the whole nine yards.  I guess I will just be patient and see if they are able to make any fixes on anything that allows this to work for me.  Darn I miss version 7.009! Lol

    Hi,
    no, not yet, Ralf went on holidays and I haven't heard from anyone else on the subject.

    I would love some feedback because I really want to do a fresh install using a new NIC and from the ISO. I also need to investigate the box to see if I can see what caused the "OOPS' yesterday. Maybe just a clean is required because summer is here and the temperatures are getting into the mid to high 30s.

    No.
    I will be building a new box shortly and installing from ISO. The current box appears to have developed a hardware fault and needs a reboot every second day. I t will be migrated to a MS XP box because it will work being powered off and on regularly.

    Hi,

    this workaround solution doesn't work for me, so I've been doing some search in the site, and unfotunately I noticed that this problem is not even mentioned in the known issues[:O]

    Have you tried removing the .com file filter?
