Hardware Reporting Broken in V5.001?

V5.0001
PII 400Mhz with 192MB RAM

All proxies, VPN, Virus detection, SPAM, IDS turned off.
about 10 packet filter rules.
NAT/IPMasq enabled.

The HW reporting page shows CPU usage consistently at about 8%.
I briefly enabled IDS the other day after installing the new License file and the CPU report then went DOWN to about 2%

I disabled it after a few hours and the report now shows 8% again.

However!

When I login to the box with SSH and run top, uptime etc I see the Load Avg  at around 5 with little idle CPU.  Utilization is consistently 90% 
I suppose the reporter uses SAR but should TOP be that FAR off?

Also,
I don't run socks, smtp, HA or a number of other features yet I see their "reporter"  PERL scripts running!

    ok.. bit the bullet...

    Upgraded my hardware... 

    New Config is...

    AMD XP 2000+ with 768MB RAM

    running top shows:

    load average: 3.51, 2.81, 2.09
    and CPU Idle from 35% to 75%

    FYI.. I didn't reinstall...
    just swapped motherboards and enabled APIC and turned ACPI on.

    interesting..with my machine (very similar to yours) i have NAT/Masq, dhcp, ips, http proxy, dns proxy, 8 packet filter rules for4 comps, pop3 proxy with 9 file attachment filters and right now my cpu is showing(with top) 72.5% idle. It drops to 60% idle when i am surfing or checking email.

    I am doing some remote logging but that shouldn't be anything significant.

    the HW reports now show a 1 minute average of 3% utilization.. less than half what they showed before.
