HTTP Proxy slows down connection speed

When i activate the HTTP proxy in Internet Explorer, pages displays about 15 sec. later.
Without proxy, it takes for the same page about 2 sec. Is it normal??
Does anybody got a solution ?

I use version 2.025 of Astaro.

    proxies always slow you down a lillte bit, but your decrease seems to have different reasons, how many memory does the ASL box have (proxies need RAM).

    Of course, it slows down the connection but i think it is too long. My web server have 512Mo of RAM..isn't that enough??

    I have seen the graphical monitor for hardware and resources usage, seem to be OK!!

    I'd like to find...   [:S]
