HTTP Proxy slows down connection speed

When i activate the HTTP proxy in Internet Explorer, pages displays about 15 sec. later.
Without proxy, it takes for the same page about 2 sec. Is it normal??
Does anybody got a solution ?

I use version 2.025 of Astaro.

proxies always slow you down a lillte bit, but your decrease seems to have different reasons, how many memory does the ASL box have (proxies need RAM).

Of course, it slows down the connection but i think it is too long. My web server have 512Mo of RAM..isn't that enough??

I have seen the graphical monitor for hardware and resources usage, seem to be OK!!

I'd like to find... [:S]

What kind of hard drive are you using in your firewall? For a while I was using an older computer with an ATA-33 drive in it, which would cause a noticable stall while the proxy dragged the files off its hard drive.

I don't think it is a hardware problem, i use a dedicated Dell server with raid 5 controller on 2 33.6Go FAST SCSI drives !! Impossible...

I will have a look to be sure

I've had almost the same problem!
So this is what you gotta check for me, do you have multipel GWs installed?!

No, there's just one gateway. But I found the problem: the nameserver has been changed by the provider. So I had to enter e new ns in the dns-proxy... Problem solved!
