smtp proxy basic question

Hi all,

The domain name you specify include all sub-domains? I mean, if I specify company.com will it include abc.company.com, def.company.com and xyz.company.com?

I think that this depends on your DNS configuration. If yourcompany.com MX record points to a single server which should receive mail for all other xxx.yourcompany.com hosts, than you should only set one. But if you have several mail servers, each configured to receive mails for different zones in your domain, you should include all of them.

Suppose the following configuration (this is how mine is configured):
You set your firewall to receive all SMTP connections (incoming mails) for a few domains. You either virus-check them or not. Than, you want your firewall to handle the mails to your mail server, which is located in your DMZ. So you set an SMTP route that routes SMTP mail from your firewall to the mail server.
