I already read that link and also the release notes of the 9.600, What I found a bit strange is that update 9.600 is not ready for the auto update and now update 9.61 is out there!!

I think we now just have to assume (as was also speculated in that thread) that there were some minor issues with 9.600 (and I have indeed noticed a few comments about it on this forum) and thus it was decided not to progress 6.000 from phase 1 to phase 2 release (as in the Up2date distribution) but to instead fix the issues, rename the fixed version 9.601 and then re-start the phased release process. I must stress that I have absolutely no inside information, so the above is merely guesswork (I was going to say 'an educated guess', but in my case, that would have been a somewhat fraudulent claim). :-)

It's been this way for a number of years, what you posted is no different behavior (at least for me) and I just go tot eh FTP site, download it and install it.

And, I'm not seeing 9.6.1 as you posted, the only most updated files I see are for 9.601-5.  What are you looking at where 9.6.1 is out?
