Outgoing server requires authorisation

Im having issues setting up our SMTP proxy, it appears to not be sending our username and password to the external email server we have. Is this intentional? What is the correct way to setup the system to allow this? Thanks.

  • At the bottom of the 'Advanced' tab, configure the server as your Smart Host.

Incoming mail -> Astaro -> External mail server
Outgoing Mail -> External Mail Server

If you want to scan outbound email before it's sent to the External Mail Server, you will want to enable Authenticated Relaying and put the Proxy in transparent mode.
