Outgoing server requires authorisation

At the bottom of the 'Advanced' tab, configure the server as your Smart Host.

Incoming mail -> Astaro -> External mail server
Outgoing Mail -> External Mail Server

If you want to scan outbound email before it's sent to the External Mail Server, you will want to enable Authenticated Relaying and put the Proxy in transparent mode.

Hi Bob, we actually have a few different external mail servers, and also each user has its own login username and password. In the client i.e. Outlook these settings are set under the "More Settings > Outgoing Server" section. I checked under SMTP profiles but the smarthost cannot be set for each profile, only globally. Thanks.

Ok, dont worry about this post, im going to open a new one. We are going to implement an exchange server so this should remove this issue. Thanks for the help though Bob.

If anyone sees this in the future, there's currently no solution for this situation that allows scanning outbound mail with the SMTP Proxy.  I think there's a feature request to allow a different smart host in each SMTP Profile.

Chris' best solution at present is to use the Astaro only for inbound mail and create an SMTP Profile for each different remote server.  Once he has a single server or has moved all servers inside, he can begin scanning outbound mail.
