Delay to delivery

Hi everybody,

I manage a ASG 625 working as mta (just mail security). And I have problems in SMTP spool, many times when it’s full take a long to delivery. CPU works at average 8%, RAM 15% of 7.8GB, there unlimited bandwidth available to use. In configuration I’m using SMTP profiles with 2 domains. 

The problem is: it take so long to delivery, sometimes the first try to delivery is about 2hours after the e-mail arrive at ASG[:@].

Can you help me?

    What do you see in the smtp log when this happens?  Is this only when trying to send to a specific domain?  Are these messages from your users to an external domain, or from an external domain to your users?

    In smtp log runs normally, show connections counting, delivering, everything normally.  Logs shows connections counting until 10, 11 or 12 sometimes more when sending; in configuration it can handle until 50. 

    But when is receiving from others “smtp’s” servers it can handle connections until the limit. The ASG receive and keep putting it on spool. Now the delivery is slow, for example the ASG receive 20 e-mails put in spool after 2 hours the mta make the first try to delivery. During this 2 hours nothing appear in logs, just I can see on smtp spool that the e-mail is there.

    Don’t happen to a specific domain or user.

    Concluding: The sending rate is not proportional receiving rate. Resulting in a BIG smtp spool.
