Wildcard TLD's for Domain and Routing Target?

Well I either didnt explain what I am trying accomplish correctly or the answer is not known.  I would think this wouldnt be an uncommon scenario.

I think almost no one here uses the SMTP proxy in transparent mode, so there's not a lot of common knowledge about it.  So, without knowing the rest of the story about your situation, it's difficult to guess what you are trying to accomplish.

You can bulk-import the list of domains on the 'Routing' tab, but I'm not sure what you mean by "get this working w/ the Astaro Mail Security."

I am using smtp proxy in transparent mode and I don't really understand the question. What is your goal?

We entered the domains the astaro should be accepting (either globally or in profiles) and set it to forward that to our smtp server. So I guess you already did that. I don't think there's any other way to do that.

what I would be interested in is Bob's info that not many people are using the transparent smtp feature.
How else are you doing it?

In all of the Mail Security installations we've done, the mail server is the only device allowed to relay email through the Astaro SMTP Proxy.  Each mail server is set to use the Astaro as a smarthost, so the Proxy doesn't need to "capture" traffic from it.

Krycek, I guess I'd turn your question around - Why are you using transparent mode?

Actually I'm not quite sure. It was set up by our reseller. I'm questioning this set up more and more but there could be a reason I'm not seeing. Here's the scenario:

We have an email server as well as an exchage server that work seperately from each other.
The exchangeserver supports mails for mydomain1.com.
The email server supplies email traffic for a bunch of domains, also providing pop/smtp service for outside users (with port redirection for smtp because a direct connection is intercepted by the proxy).
All of those domains have been configured in diffrent profiles so we can configure the antispam and antivirus individually.
The profiles seperate the different domains and direct the traffic either to the exchange or email server.
All MX records point to their corresponding domain like mail.mycompany1.com which resolves to one of our external IPs which then gets translated to the internal email servers IP by the astaro.

I'm not sure I if there could be anything that wouldn't work without transparent mode.

Like I said, I don't have much experience using it, but your configuration dosn't seem to depend on the "transparent mode" selection.
