Prefetch - duplicates for mobile users

Whenever any of our mobile users retrieve their email outside of our organization (i.e., not through the Astaro gateway), when they return to the office they re-receive every message that they received while away.

We use an external mail server (ISP), and the latest ASG (7.405).

Short of disabling prefetch, what can we do to prevent this?

Hi,
do you use "leave messages on server"?

I know there is another way, but just can't recall how to do it at the moment.

No, leave on server is not set. The client deletes the emails from the server.

Well, why don't you set up your astaro public ip address as pop3 server in your external users email account? This should avoid duplicates. Those users should access your pop3 proxy both when they are in office and out of office.

Even a VPN access to your astaro local ip will do the trick.

I don't think that will work. And forcing the use of a VPN just to get their email is not a satisfactory solution.

But it doesn't matter now. We found a workaround by using Secure POP3 for the mobile users, which bypasses the Astaro Proxy/Prefetch.
