E-Mail Encryption

Hi there,

i just installed V7 yesterday and I am mostly satisfied with it but I don't get it with that email encryption. Is it only possible when using the smtp proxy or how should i set it up when using it like:


LAN -|ASG7| - [Internet]         --->    [My mailserver on a root hardware]

My LAN is already able to collect the mails from the external mailserver (even pop3 prefetch works well) but how to get the encryption working???

    Yes of course I did, I have made a user account on the asg, uploaded the pub-key to pgp-keyserver, my friend got that one and after i uploaded his pub-key to my OpenPGP-Keys thing at the asg i sent a testmail.

    Nothing happenend. The mail just got delivered without signing.

    Hi,

    I'm no expert on this, but ...

    I use encryption on my ASG with SMTP proxy enabled. 

    I think you need to enable the proxy to accept the emails from both the internet and your local mail server.  The ASG will then (or should) perform any encryption and decryption on the emails inboud and outbound where it has the ability to do so.

    So..

    Lan->Internal Mailserver->ASG->Internet

    If you want to send you friend an PGP Signed or Encrypted email
    you have to do 3 things:
    1. You have to define yourself as an internal user with Public and Private key on the ASL
    2. You have to upload your friends Public PGP-Key under OpenPGP public keys
    3. The Mail you send your friend must be sent from your Internal Mailserver throught the ASL SMTP Proxy.
