Spam Pattern becoming old and ineffective

The used to update the spam signatures about once a month.. you're right, there a little out of date right now.. still doing a good job, but it could do better.

For users who purchased back when the SPAM filtering was included in the base price it is even worse.  The SPAM license is extended through 2008, but you can't download new signatures.  I suspect by 2008 the filtering will be almost useless.

I had simular findings for our clients!
The date of Deff. of Spam is 12 december 2005 or date of installation New Firewall V6 in 2006....
And "liveupdate" is telling that there are No New Deffs to INstall.

Our Clients are getting more and more Spam with a lower Spam-TAG than the first Treshold (lower than 4).
I'll hope that Astaro will update this soon.

At this moment i've placed different Expressions to get the most off the non filtered "Possible Spam", but this is not the way it should be. Because Spamreleasing can release only the (SP)-Tagged mail and not the (EXP). So there is still a lot of Management needed for those clients.

I've reported these findings to the "Dutch Distributor" of Astaro products.
I'll hope that this will be updated, because the spam is becomming priority 1, or i've to look for a other product than Astaro and that would be .......???...... Astaro in use since Version 2, rest of the product works just fine ! It would be a damned shame to look for a other product.

I'm finding a lot of spam is getting through and some things that really should be obvious are getting through even with our filter set to 3 (which means 3 or 4 restorals a day even for our tiny office).

We mainly bought the firewall for spam protection so this is rather disappointing.

as our customers tend more and more to implement more than one instance to protect the gateway we definitively have to offer solutions for VirusProtection and/or SpamProtection separately.
The worse the performance of Astaro becomes the more we have to suggest different solutions.
I really do hope that Astaro solves this issue in a short time.

Trouble is, there aren't many products on the market that have a real bulletproof spam-protection. And when they have one, its like you have to pay 500€ per user and year.  [:(]

Need antispam update definitions too... Lots of certain types coming through, which I have submitted ample samples of to Cloudmark (who I believe are partly responsible for anti spam updates for ASL).

I've ask to Astaro Italy and then Astaro Germany what can I say to my customers about the money they have spent for a die product.
I don't know if the problem is that Astaro can't create a new database or if spamassassin is changed and Astaro doesn't use the new version.
I know that I have about 40 coustomers and if I need to offer a different spam product I don't need to renew the Astaro license.
I don't understand why Astaro explain the real problem.

We were sold this primarily as an anti-spam solution. This is very very disappointing.
