pop3 daemon not running - restarted

I am getting above messages from my Firewall. They first occured after update to 5.019 - three times within 4 days. Then silence. Now, after update to 5.021 I get that message hourly (not exactly 60 minutes, but anywhere between 50 and 90 mins)!
Two questions:
- anyone had the same problem (and maybe solution?)
- is the proxy periodically restarted or "on demand" - meaning, if it dies, is there a cronjob does checks for it periodically and restarts or does it get restarted when some client in the inside network tries using it and it is not running?

  • that may be true..however this did not become a problem for this and other daemons until 5.019...and blaming old hardware is not the ticket as faster machines are  seeing this too..
