Home firewall based on Celeron 1037U fast enough?

Hi,

I'm want to build my own home firewall based on Sophos UTM. I found the following low power consumption barebone pc with a Celeron 1037U with dual LAN:
Barebone Fanless Mini Computer Desktop PC Intel Celeron 1037U HTPC Alloy Case with USB3.0

I want to setup this configuration with 8GB internal memory and a 500GB SATA disk.

The speed of my internet connection is a 60/6Mbit (Down/Up). But I want be ready for the feature when its upgraded to a higher speed connection.

I read also the benchmark of de Celeron 1037U on the following topic:

On this topic its tested with IPS and without IPS. But not with using the Antivirus function. But I want to use this option. 

Now my question:
Is there anyone that have experience with this type of CPU in a configuration and can they tell me what I can except of the throughput when I enable IPS and Web Security?

    i´ve got exactly the same CPU in use with 4 GB RAM and an SSD and my system is running stable and relaible. My configuration is running with DUAL-Scan and IPS activated. Its longer than a year in use and i never got a hardware sizing problem.

    By the way: The power consumption is about 20 watts.

    Even though speed tests are not really reliable, i´ve got a throughput about 12k which is great for a 16k max. So there aint no real restrictions. [;)]

    do you mean 12mb/s on a 16mb/s line?
    12k on a 16k is very poor.

    So when TheBalmasque means 12Mbps I'm also curious if there is anyone with higher throughput based on this processor. Because my Internet connection is a 60/6 Mbps. And when it is slowing down to 12 Mbps I think I need better hardware.

    Hi ,
    I suspect, but have no real experience with a slow processor that you will need more speed for that external network.

    William has contributed to many threads that the only way to go with IPS enabled is throw ghz at it eg 2.7 or maybe even 3.4.
    Try turning IPS off and see what you can download at.

    Thanks for reply. But I currently investigating acceptable hardware for building my own Home Firewall. See my first post for the barebone pc that I maybe want to buy. But I'm not sure if this low power consuming hardware is enough for my internet connection.

    Sorry for my misleading comment from above. My 16K DSL always limits to a 13K throughput. This is even without the UTM server. So the 13 K throuput is no UTM but a provider limit...

    Don't you mean 13M?  13K for most IT folks means 13 kilobits per second which is a quarter the speed of dialup. [:)]

    Yes, it stands for 13.000 KB. In my case they market it as DSL 16000. [[:)]]
    In cause of that i said 16 K....
