Older i5 work OK?

I have an older Lynnfield i5-750 that isn't being used. I was thinking that I would get a mobo and use it for the Sophos box.

I know it's older tech, but it should be alright, yes? I've been reading about how some of the processes like higher clock speeds. Would I be better served getting something with more MHZ, like a Pentium Anniversary edition and OCing it to 4.0 MHZ?

  • Hi, I'm not sure about that model, but many Lenovo workstations use poor NICs; budget for an extra Intel or Broadcom NIC.

The ts140 server uses an intel 350 chipset nic.
